ZM Land & Capital, the company behind the proposed development based around the listed Shredded Wheat buildings, called The Wheat Quarter, is delighted to announce that the Cassana Performance Arts Academy is the first organisation to secure a place in the Civic Building on the site, subject to planning permission being granted.
Jeremy Fooks, a Director of ZM Land & Capital said:
“An important part of our proposed development is the focus on wellbeing and health in the Civic Building. Having an agreement to provide the Cassana Academy with a state-of-the-art performance space and recording studio is a great start to achieving our aims.”
The Cassana Academy is a local, extra-curricula performing arts school offering students from 3 years old enjoyable, exciting and challenging classes, encouraging self-confidence whilst nurturing their enjoyment, talent and love of performing arts. As well as regular weekly classes, the Academy offers holiday and summer schools, together with private lessons and dance parties.
Cassana Rason, Principal of the Academy is excited about the future:
“This is such an exciting development for our students and their families. Our new location in the Civic building will be a vibrant hub of performing arts. We’re so pleased to be part of this incredible development and we hope to build relationships with local schools and groups within the community to support the growth of the performing arts, with access to great facilities too!”
The plans have now been submitted to Welwyn and Hatfield Council and residents can register their support on the proposals here.
